Christmas Party - relocated to Shiraz Restaurant

Monday, 22 November 2021 by Paul Brake

Hi everyone,

I know this is a late decision but the Board has decided to change the venue for our Christmas lunch.  Unfortunately Northcliffe Surf Club is still undergoing extensive renovations and access is difficult with steep stairs and a single person lift.  As well there is no parking because of the renovations.

The Board recently tried the new Persian restaurant Shiraz under the Wings Building next to our club and really enjoyed both the food and ambience so we have decided to relocate our Christmas lunch to there.   Parking and access is very easy as we can all park in the bridge club car park and there are no stairs to negotiate.  The owner of Shiraz has also become a major sponsor of the club - Northcliffe Surf Club is no longer a sponsor - and of course we prefer to support our sponsors when possible.

The cost per person will remain at $35 and the Christmas lunch will still be held on Saturday the 4th of December at 11.30 am.

It will not be a Christmas menu but there will be delicious dips for starters followed by platters of prawns, meat and grilled veges served with saffron and pomegranate rice followed by Baklava.  If anyone has any dietary concerns please let us know when you are paying for your Christmas lunch.

We hope you all understand and support our decision but if you have paid and no longer wish to attend you will of course have your money refunded.

The Board believes this is going to be a great venue with delicious food and we hope as many of you as possible will be able to come and join in the celebrations.  I know we all hope for lots of great bridge next year, good health and a better year for everyone in 2022.
