Covid - Players must still be vaccinated

Wednesday, 13 July 2022 by

The Board voted yesterday (12 July 2022) at our monthly meeting to continue to not allow non-vaccinated members to play at the Gold Coast Bridge Club.   This decision is supported by the QBA which is encouraging bridge clubs to make up their own decision on this matter.  We feel that with so much Covid in the community at present we prefer to stay with things the way they are but this decison will be reviewed in the future.

We have also have concern among some members regarding people who cough in the club.  Obviously if you have cold, flu, or Covid symptoms you must not come to bridge but some members have persisitent coughs for other reasons.  I myself have mild asthma which can cause me to cough at times but I am healthy otherwise.

If you are concerned about this and you are a vulnerable person, please wear a mask to protect yourself but we cannot stop all coughs in the club especially if they are related to chronic, non-infectious causes.
